To PCO's from Jean Brooks

To PCO's

Below are the main points that I feel need to be focused on in helping to build a stronger Pierce County Democratic Party in 2007-2008. My experience* tells me that there will be many other endeavors along the road towards a national election that we will have to do to assure a Democratic victory in 2008. I am a realist, without funds obtaining our goals will be much more difficult. Thus, fundraising is important. Together, we can make it all happen. I look forward to working with all of you in the future.

Below my points you will find a link to the PCO Handbook, thought you might find it an interesting read.

Looking forward to seeing you on January 13th, 2007
Jean Brooks,
Chair, Pierce County Democrats

1. Develop improved communication with PCO's, Legislative Districts, the Central Committee, the Executive Board and its committees and our elected officials. Examples of how this can be accomplished include:

Upgrading our website
Developing an electronic newsletter
Focus groups with citizens to determine how we can better serve their concerns
Inviting PCO's to attend E-Board Meetings

2. Continue to build on our fund raising with two or three major events each year and other smaller fundraisers used as party building.

3. Continue to build our base doing the following:

Assisting the Legislative Districts with filling all PCO positions.
Increased Voter registration
Voter ID
Volunteer recruitment
Recruiting observers
Training for PCO's at the county level

*please read my small resume at the beginning of this blog
to see why my management background, extensive political background and political contacts combine to make me the most qualified candidate for the position of Piece County Democrats Chair. I thank you for your vote.

The Precinct Committee Officer (PCO) is the representative of the Democratic Political party on the grassroots level. This document goes over how the Democratic Party functions, and the role that the PCO has in that institution. Below is the link to the handbook for your convenience.

Keep Pierce Blue~2006

Hi, I am Ronnie Bush, contracted Fundraiser for PC Dems, and for Keep Pierce Blue~2006.
Many thanks to the volunteers that made this event possible. Jean Brooks was the person that made this fundraiser possible. Jean hired me. Her tenacity in pursuing me, her beliefs in the future of the Pierce County Democrats convinced me that this was a venture I could take on, with only "fairy dust" to start. So many told me it wasn't possible. Over $20,000.00 later, an event that rocked the foundation of the "doubters", meetings to try to pull together an event in a mere seven weeks, evenings filled with the stuffing of envelopes, each one with Jean Brooks in attendance, one of the faithful volunteers. Jean called me many times each and every day, asking what I wanted her to do, who should she call...her willingness to work, to help me, to "back" the team, bring donuts, anything, nothing was too much. This is the Jean who was our "rock" during the seven weeks leading up to the event...this is the person who will continue to be the "rock" behind the Pierce County Democrats between now and the 2008 elections....ensuring that we will Keep Pierce Blue !!
